A resource to help students identify the R blend at the beginning of a word.
Print these R Blend Cards, cut them out and then laminate them. Students are required to use a whiteboard marker to write the blend sound at the beginning of the word.
The pictures give a clue about what word they are trying to write. Words include:
bread, brick, bride, brown, broom, bridge, brush, brain, drum, dragon, dress, drip, dream, drill, drink, draw, crayon, crab, crown, cry, crust, cradle, cricket, crow, grape, grass, gray, green, train, trash, tree, truck, trumpet, trace, troll, tray, fruit, frog, frying, Friday, frame, freeze, fright, free, present, princess, prince and prize.
Simply wipe the cards clean and then use them again.
