Bug Games for Preschool and Up!

Do you love teaching about insects? This printable game of Bug Bingo is a perfect opportunity for you to introduce your class to insects and more creepy crawly critters. This bug game for kids will provide speaking, listening, and vocabulary development as you learn about bugs with brightly-colored Bingo boards and verbal descriptor cards. It is a perfect language-learning game for ELL learners!

To play, provide each student with a bingo board and a handful of counters or other manipulatives. Pull a card from the description deck and read the description aloud. Have your little entomologists turn and talk about the insect they think is being described and mark it with a counter. This game can be won in several ways, such as

  • Four Corners Bingo – Students must cover the insects in each of the four corners.
  • Horizontal 4-in-a-Row Bingo – Students must cover a horizontal row of four to win.
  • Bingo Blackout – To win, students must cover all bingo spaces with a counter. (Note: This may result in multiple bingo calls at the same time)

This creepy, crawly game is a great resource to supplement your Living and Nonliving Things unit. Children can read, write, and play games about bugs. This game is perfect as a bug lesson, brain break, or indoor recess activity.
