46 writer's notebook journal writing prompt cards.
Journal writing can be a powerful strategy for students to gain writing fluency. It can help remove the fear of writing and increase writing stamina.
Instead of simply telling students to write about whatever they would like (which usually results in the dreaded sentence, “I don’t know what to write about.”), simply project a prompt card on the screen and set a timer. This is a great way to keep students focused on a particular theme or topic.
These also work well when put into a writing center!
