Teaching Children about Kind and Unkind Scenarios

Let’s sort kindness! This cut-and-paste worksheet has been designed and created by a teacher to help students understand the concepts of kind and unkind actions in a hands-on way. This activity is not just a worksheet; it’s a tool that fosters meaningful discussions about the importance of kindness in our daily lives.

The scenarios included in this worksheet are:

  • A child having their hair pulled by another child.
  • A child being pushed on the back by another child.
  • An older child helping another child put on their shoe.
  • A child playing nicely with another child.

This resource is included in this set of Kindness Teaching Slides.

Real Examples of Being Kind and Unkind

By exposing children to tangible instances of kind actions, children learn to recognize the impact of empathy on others’ well-being and the positive ripple effect it creates. Equally important is highlighting instances of unkindness, as this allows kids to understand the consequences of hurtful behavior and fosters an awareness of the emotions involved. Real-life examples serve as powerful teaching tools, offering relatable scenarios that resonate with children making the concepts of kindness and empathy more concrete and actionable in their everyday lives.
