Local, State & National Government for Kids

From military defense to waste disposal, certain public services are handled at specific levels of government. Ideally, this separation ensures communities get what they need to run efficiently and effectively, with flexibility, as populations change and challenges arise.

In this activity, students will work their way through the three levels of government with a printable workbook containing graphic organizers, questions, and sentence starters to help them discover the leaders and duties held by the state, local, and national governments.
