What Main Idea is Boiling?

Use this kettle template for a fun craft project when looking at the main idea and supporting details. In this craft template, students need to write down the main idea of a text that they either read or have read to them. They must then provide the supporting details in the kettle to create the main idea. Cute! If you are looking for a simple text to use with your students, you may like to use one of the following resources to assist:

  • This set of main idea task cards includes five simple pieces of text that would be perfect for reading to your students for this activity.
  • This main idea activity has a piece of text called – Thunderstorms and would be another great non-fiction text to read.
  • Learn all about Turtles with this main idea text that can be used for this cute kettle craft activity.

Create a Main Idea Bulletin Board
