Looking for a Natural Resources Worksheet?

What is a natural resource? How are they used? Natural resources are materials or substances that are formed naturally and can be used for a specific purpose. Natural resources may be renewable or nonrenewable. This worksheet will help students determine how natural resources are useful to create products and materials that we need.

This science worksheet encourages students to think about different resources and their uses. Students will draw a line from each natural resource to show the progression of how it is used. For example, we use trees for wood, which is then used to build houses.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to list additional natural resources and how they are used in our everyday lives.

For students who may need additional support, encourage them to reference previous lessons, assignments, or anchor charts to support them with the worksheet. Additionally, students could work backward (right to left) if that is helpful for them.
