Practice all the ways to make ten with this set of flashcards.
Building Number Sense
Teaching students how to make ten cultivates a deep understanding of number relationships and place value. By recognising the combinations of numbers that add up to ten, students develop a solid foundation in number sense and gain versatile tools for mental calculations. These downloadable flashcards include the first addend missing and the second. There are also blank flashcards for you and your students to make your own.
What is an Addend?
An added is a term used in addition to referring to any of the numbers being added together. In a simple addition equation such as 5 + 3 = 8, the addends are 5 and 3. Both numbers are addends because they are combined to find the sum of 8 in this case. In an addition problem, the addends are individual components added to obtain the total.
