Easy Printable Mother’s Day Craft Activity

Has Mother’s Day crept up on you too? Are you looking for a no-prep Mother’s Day craft that’s super easy to set up – but still adorable? Well – this Mother’s Day craft and write activity is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

In this cupcake-themed paper craft activity, students will write about why their mom or someone special to them is the sweetest. They’ll decorate the first cupcake and cut it out, and then they’ll complete the writing piece on the second cupcake with guided sentence starters. Finally, they’ll glue the first cupcake to the top of the second cupcake to create a cute cupcake-shaped Mother’s Day card!

This activity has all the goods for students to practice their fine motor skills with coloring and cutting and their writing skills with the writing task included.

✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors

This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.

With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:

  • strengthen finger and hand muscles
  • build dexterity and fine motor skills
  • improve hand-eye coordination
  • develop focus and attention.

And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.

Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
