Roar! We are looking for some information on amazing animals! Use your report writing skills to classify and describe an animal of your choice.
This interactive informative writing activity contains the following slides:
- Brainstorm – List some animals in the boxes provided.
- Purpose – Choose an animal to be the focus of the report.
- Interesting Facts – List three interesting facts about the chosen animal.
- Classification – Classify the animal according to its key attributes.
- Appearance – Describe the color, size and features of the animal.
- Habitat – Describe the habitat and climate in which the animal lives.
- Diet – Explore what the animal eats and the ways in which it sources its food.
- Report Draft – Use the text structure scaffold on the slide to type a draft report.
- Final Copy – Type a completed report about the chosen sport.
- Checklist – Use the checklist to review the completed text.
