Students will discover the types of housing they lived in, the climate, and how they used their environment to survive and meet their basic needs: food, clothing, and shelter.

The indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest include many different tribes, each with its own history and traditions. This region’s rich culture and history is worth exploring in the elementary classroom. By learning about the  Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest, young students will understand more about the rich history and important contributions that they have made to the United States.

This template makes for a simple book creation process. To create your mini books, print one single-sided book and keep the pages in the order they were printed. Then, copy the pages as packets.

One packet will make two books for students. Give each pair of students a packet and have them cut the pages down the center, then staple their mini-books down the left-hand side.
