2nd Grade Math Fun!
Being able to add and subtract 10 and 100 to a number mentally is an important skill that young students need to learn. This helps them use their understanding of place value to perform quick calculations without writing them down. Teach Starter has created a puzzle match-up set to help your 2nd-grade students determine 10 or 100 more/less than a 3-digit number.
This resource comes with the following:
- A title page with directions
- 36 puzzle cards to create 12 3-piece puzzles
- Answer key
Prior to student use, the puzzle pieces should be cut apart. Lamination is recommended to keep the pieces sturdy through student use. Students then work to match each number to its corresponding phrases. Answers can be checked using the key provided.
This activity is intended to be an engaging problem-solving task to encourage students to pay close attention to detail when calculating 10 or 100 more or less than a given number.
