Teach your students about the moon, sun, stars, and clouds with this 24-slide instructional slide deck.
What Are These Objects in the Sky?
Are your students starting to notice that there are different things in the sky? Maybe they recognize that there are some things that are only seen during the day and others are only seen at night. Additionally, some objects may only be visible with a telescope (because they are so far away)! So what are some of the basic objects students learn about?
In kindergarten, first, and second grade, students typically learn about:
- The sun
- The moon
- Stars
- Planets
- Clouds
Students learn to observe, describe, and illustrate the appearance and patterns of these objects.
Teach Starter has created a teaching presentation that you can use with your students to help them understand the different objects found in the sky.
This presentation contains 24 slides that are filled with colorful illustrations and easy-to-follow information regarding the sun, moon, stars, and clouds that will keep your students interested and motivated.
The teacher should guide the class or group through the presentation when using this instructional slide deck. There are opportunities for student discussion with a partner as well as check for understanding opportunities throughout.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your science lessons.
If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:
🆘 Support Struggling Students
To provide additional support, deliver the information in small “chunks,” allowing time for students to process.
➕ Challenge Fast Finishers
Encourage students who need an additional challenge to draw a picture and label the different objects in the sky.
