Have a “Blast” With Our Ordering Numbers 1-10 Game!
Our “To the Moon!” ordering numbers 1-10 game is a great way to engage your students while giving them practice writing and ordering numbers up to 10. Students will roll dice to fill in their rockets with the numbers from 1-10, with the first student to do so being declared the winner!
This ordering numbers 1-10 resource includes:
- “To the Moon” game board with name and date line
- “To the Moon” game board without name and date line
Materials needed to play:
- One “To the Moon” game board per student
- A 10-sided die or two regular dice
- Pencils or dry erase markers
This ordering numbers 1-10 game works well as guided practice or as an addition to math centers. If you print the game boards on cardstock and laminate them, students can play this game over and over with dry erase markers.
Playing Our Ordering Numbers 1 to 10 Game
“To the Moon!” is best played in partners, but could also be played in small groups.
To play this ordering numbers 1 to 10 game:
- Give each player a game board and a pencil.
- Give each pair or group one 10-sided die or two regular dice.
- Player 1 rolls the die and writes the number in the correct spot on their rocket. (1 will be at the bottom and 10 will be at the top.)
- Player 2 does the same.
- Play continues with both players taking turns rolling and writing the number in the correct blank on their rockets.
- If a player rolls a number they already have, (or an 11 or 12 if they are using two dice) they forfeit that turn.
- The first player to fill their rocket wins!
Students playing with two regular dice can also play a variation where rolling an 11 or 12 is “wild.”
