Use this place value worksheet to get your students analyzing decimal place value in numbers.
Looking for 5th Grade Place Value Worksheets?
So your students have mastered traditional place value concepts… now what? If your students have a good handle on identifying the place value of a digit, they are probably ready to understand different patterns that occur within numbers. Once students enter 4th and 5th grade, they start to learn about how a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left. Teach Starter has a handy math worksheet for your students to practice this skill!
With this worksheet, students will review and become familiar with moving from place value to place value within a number and recognizing patterns. Students will practice moving decimal points to make a number larger or smaller. The goal is for students to understand when the decimal point moves to the left, the number decreases. When the decimal point is moved to the right, the number increases.
An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

- Support students by providing them with access to a decimal place value chart so they can see how each place increases or decreases by 10. Additionally, this worksheet can be completed in a 1-on-1 setting or with a small group of students.
