A Phoneme Manipulation Game of Sound Switch-Ups
Created by a teacher to make phonemic awareness practice engaging and fun, this game invites students to spin and switch sounds in words to develop critical phoneme manipulation skills. Using the spinner included in the download (with either the provided arrow or a DIY spinner using a paperclip and pencil), students will engage in the following sound activities:
- Replace the last sound
- Remove the last sound
- Make a rhyming word
- Replace the first sound
- Replace the vowel sound
- Remove the first sound
After each spin, students write their new word on the recording sheet, creating a fun way to practice phoneme manipulation!
