Helping Master Place Value: Printable Bingo Games for Kids

This set of Place Value Bingo cards has been created by an experienced teacher to aide students understanding of place value in numbers up to 1 000 000. Having this understanding is an important maths skill for students to understand the value of each digit in a number. This will build a solid foundation for maths understanding for more advanced concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. By including fun and interactive games like this bingo into the classroom you can transform a dry topic into an exciting challenge. As your students attempt to complete the bingo cards in front of them, they are also actively reinforcing their understanding of hundreds, thousands and even hundred-thousands. This game format then encourages all students to participate.

Variations of Bingo in the Classroom

There are many other ways to use Bingo cards in the classroom, here are just a few different ideas:

  • Partner up – Simply play Bingo but in pairs. Each student can take turns to draw out and call out the numbers.
  • Get the timer out – Play Bingo – but race against the clock. What is the fastest time someone can fill a line on their Bingo card?
  • Exploring listening skills – Conduct a silent bingo game where students write down the numbers you silently display instead of calling them out loud. This variation sharpens their visual recognition skills and their ability to process information without auditory input, catering to different learning styles.
  • Bingo teams – Divide the class into small groups and have them compete in a team-based bingo game. This fosters teamwork and communication, as students must work together to determine the correct place values and fill their bingo cards. The collaborative effort reinforces their learning and builds a sense of community in the classroom.
