Are you looking for easy-to-use, engaging, and fun resources to help your students practice writing numbers in expanded, standard, and word forms? This Google Sheets interactive resource will make your math practice more fun!
To play, students will open the Google Sheets file via Google Classroom or another Learning Management System. From there, students will solve the problems presented on the spreadsheet by typing their answers in the answer boxes.
The penguin mystery picture is slowly revealed as the students input correct answers, ending with the completed image. Should a student make a mistake, those portions of the picture will not be displayed, prompting the student to return to their work to check their answers. This activity provides students with 42 opportunities to translate a number in word or expanded form into its original standard form.
The closer they get to completing this activity, the more excited they will get as bits and pieces of the picture start coming together. You may even have a few guess the mystery image!
Through this self-checking activity, students will show the ability to read and write numbers in multiple forms.
