An activity to use when teaching younger students about positional language.
This cut and paste activity has been designed to help younger students with their understanding of positional language.
How to use this resource:
- Give each student a copy of the mountain scene and a set of picture cards. NOTE: The picture card page contains three sets of cards. Cut the page in thirds and give one set to each student.
- Read the instructions to the students, and have them glue the pictures into the correct spot on the mat.
The positional vocabulary used in this teaching resource includes:
- in
- on
- between
- next to
- near
- in front.
As an alternative, print the mats onto cardstock and have the students place the picture cards into the correct spot instead of gluing them. This will allow the mats to be reused.
