Cut and Paste > Boring Old Prefix Worksheets!

Studies have shown that when children are given opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences, they are more likely to understand and remember the concepts they are being taught. For example, a child learning about prefixes might gain a deeper understanding by physically manipulating and combining prefixes and base words to form new words rather than simply completing a standard fill-in-the-blank worksheet.

This worksheet aims to do just that! With this resource download, students will cut, sort, and paste prefixes with accompanying base words to build new words. Rather than simply writing them out, students can manipulate the word parts with their hands and connect the physical concept of forming words with the mental concept.

✍️The prefixes referenced in this activity are un, bi, re, dis, pre, un, dis and mis.
