🧩 Fun Fall Activities for Letter-Sound Correspondence

Use this Fall Activity for Kindergarten in your reading center as a guided reading activity or a whole class exercise (see below) to give students a chance to use their phonological awareness knowledge.

The students will identify the letter sound on each pumpkin piece and match it with the image that begins with the same initial phoneme, completing the puzzle.

Fall Alphabet Activity Scaffolding & Extension Tips

Challenge students who already understand the concept to create a new puzzle base using words that end with the matching sound, e.g., n = hen.

Support students who need help understanding the concepts by using a visual reminder of letter sounds, such as an alphabet display

Use this resource as independent practice for fast finishers and for full-class learning opportunities like scoot activities, lesson reviews, formative assessments, and more.

👀 Scavenger Hunt

Hide the pieces around the room when your students are not around. Then set your students loose! As soon as they find a match, they bring it to their desk or table. Students with the most matches win!

Easily Prepare This Resource for Your Students
