Calm your students' first-day jitters with bags of Back-to-School Ready Confetti topped with fun First Day of School poems.
Break Out the Ready Confetti! It’s Time for School!
Returning to school after a break can be difficult for students of all ages. Meet Your Teacher night and the first day of school are exciting but can also be a bit scary. The thought of having to find their way around new classrooms, meet new people, and get ready for all the challenges that come with the new academic year is frightening, and it often leads to a sleepless night on the night before the first day of school.
This year, you can help ease your students’ fears by making them bags of magical Ready Confetti!
What is Ready Confetti? How Do You Make It?
Ready Confetti is a simple enough concept, but it makes a big difference in settling down those first-day jitters and helping kids get a good night’s sleep before starting the day. To make Ready Confetti, you’ll only need a few materials.
- Premade Confetti (or make your own using your 3-hole punch). You can also check your local discount stores for the shredded paper material used to line gift baskets.
- Zipper Bags, Card Envelopes, or Small Paper lunch bags
- Printed Copies of the poem (We’ve included two sizes for different containers)
- A Stapler
To assemble your bags of Ready Confetti, place a small amount of paper confetti into your bag or envelope of choice. Then close the top and staple it shut. Attach the Ready Confetti poem to the bag using staples, glue, or dress it up with a fun ribbon.
Put your bags of Ready Confetti out at Meet Your Teacher and instruct your students to keep them sealed until the night before the first day of school. Once that special day comes, students will read the poem and sprinkle their Ready Confetti underneath their pillow to help calm their fears and prepare for the first day of school!
