🔍 Can you Spy the Trash – Worksheet

In this worksheet, students are encouraged to spy on all the different types of trash. They are asked to color code the garbage into their groups to show their understanding of the appropriate bins to use. The recycling containers included in this worksheet include a recycling bin, trash can, and compost bin.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

To challenge students further, have them create their own I Spy worksheet using other types of rubbish materials on the backside of this worksheet.

For students who need some extra support, you may like to do this in small groups where the students work together to spy and sort the pieces of trash on the worksheet.

Easily Download & Print

Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardstock and slipping it into a write-and-wipe sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them.

Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
