Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources Worksheet

What are the differences between renewable and nonrenewable resources? Materials in nature that can be replenished are considered renewable. On the other hand, materials that are not replenished as quickly as they are being used are called nonrenewable resources. Teach Starter has created a crossword puzzle to help your students with vocabulary terms associated with these natural resources.

The resource includes two different versions, one with a word bank and the other without. The worksheet includes 10 definitions and vocabulary terms, including those such as:

  • Natural gas
  • Conservation
  • Soal energy
  • Coal
  • And more!

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

If students need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to create a comic or infographic using the words from the crossword puzzle.

Provide the crossword puzzle with the word bank for students who need additional support. Additionally, encourage students to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts.

🖨️ Easily Download & Print

Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or editable Google Slides version of this resource.

Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.

Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardstock and slipping it into a dry-erase sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them.
