Have Some Fun with a Roll to Create Christmas Writing Prompt

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Christmas season brings joy, laughter, and plenty of opportunities for creative writing in the classroom. With the right activities, you can help your students develop their writing skills while also getting into the holiday spirit.

Write Fun Christmas Stories for Kids

Your students are a few rolls away from the story elements they need to write a fun, narrative text. Here’s how our roll-to-create activities work:

  1. Roll the die. Match the number rolled to a row on the chart, and see which story element is in the ‘1st Roll’ column. Write the element in the corresponding blank at the bottom of the page.
  2. Roll again. Match the number to a row on the chart, and see which story element is in the ‘2nd Roll’ column. Write this element in the corresponding blank at the bottom of the page.
  3. Continue in this same manner until you have all of the story elements.
  4. Write a narrative text that includes all of the story elements you have rolled.
