Rounding Worksheets

Are your 4th graders practicing how to round larger numbers? Once students understand the skill of rounding, this can be applied to any number. Teach Starter has created a set of fun riddle worksheets that your students can use to sharpen their rounding skills.

Each of the 3 riddle worksheets contains 12 problems where students will round a 6-digit number. Once students have rounded the number correctly, they will reveal the answer to a riddle by plugging in the corresponding letters.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

If there are students who need a bit of a challenge, use the editable version to include decimal values.

For students who need a bit of support, invite them to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts. Additionally, provide students with a place value chart and a highlighter to mark which place is being rounded.

🖨️ Easily Download & Print

Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or editable Google Slides version of this resource.

Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.

Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardstock and slipping it into a dry-erase sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them.

Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
