Boosting Self-Esteem One Heart at a Time!
A teacher has designed this lovely activity to spark a little love and boost the self-esteem of the students in your class. Whether you are currently focusing on this topic in your social-emotional lessons or you feel like your class needs a little boost – this activity is exactly what you need in your kit of feel-good resources!
Also, why not incorporate this activity during your Valentine’s Day celebrations?
In pairs, students take turns picking up a colored cut-out heart and then responding to the prompt that corresponds to that colored heart. Prompts featured in this self-esteem activity include:
- Share a time you felt proud of yourself.
- Share something you are grateful for.
- Share something you like about your friend.
- Tell a short story about a good memory with someone you love.
- Give your friend a compliment.
- Share one thing you like about yourself.
How to Use This Self-Esteem Activity Resource
Print enough prompt cards and hearts so students can do this activity in pairs. Take this opportunity to talk to your students about active listening and how to ensure everyone feels heard.
Have students talk about how they feel before the activity. After completing the activity, ask them how they are feeling – talk about any differences and why they think this way.
