Review sentence types and punctuation for grade 1 and 2 students with an engaging Four Corners Punctuation Game.
Sentence Types and Punctuation for Grade 1 and 2
Are you looking for an interactive sentence types and punctuation game that gets students up and moving? Super Sentences Four Corners is a sentence type and punctuation review game designed for first—and second-graders to reinforce their understanding of sentence types and punctuation used in them. Using a fun, movement-based approach, students demonstrate their knowledge by choosing the correct “corner” of the classroom based on the sentence type or punctuation needed to complete the sentence.
Get Moving With a Sentence Types and Punctuation Game
This punctuation game is perfect for reviewing the four types of sentences and corresponding punctuation for grade 1 and 2 students who learn best through hands-on activities. Instead of sitting at their desks, students move to different corners of the room to categorize and punctuate each sentence correctly.
To play this sentence and punctuation game, follow the instructions below.
- Have the students get out whiteboards to record their answers. Display the game in slideshow mode.
- Review each type of sentence using the first four slides.
- Invite students to read the sentence on each slide. Students will determine the correct sentence type or end punctuation, and move to that corner of the room.
- Students return to the center after each question and repeat.
With built-in interactive slides, this sentence and punctuation game makes learning active and engaging. You can use it for whole-class instruction or small-group practice, helping your students gain confidence in identifying the four types of sentences and using correct punctuation for each type.
