Identify the story beginning, series of events and ending with this narrative text sequencing activity.
Identify Story Events in Order
One of the first features of narrative texts we teach young students is the concept of beginning, middle and end. No matter what the genre, a story must start somewhere, a series of events must unfold, and the character must end their journey!
This story sequencing activity has been designed to help your students identify the beginning, middle and end of the well-known fairy tale, The Three Little Pigs. After they have read the story, the students are required to cut out the sentences summarizing the story and place them in the correct order in the table provided. The table provides scaffolding labels to help the students paste the sentences in the appropriate sections (orientation, series of events in time order, resolution).
