Compassion for Kids
In today’s fast-paced world, where empathy sometimes takes a back seat, teaching our young ones the value of compassion has never been more crucial. Fostering compassion in children from an early age lays the foundation for a kinder, more empathetic society. Teach Starter has designed this engaging activity to inspire and educate elementary students about the significance of showing compassion towards others.
In this activity, students will be presented with a variety of scenarios where they must decide on an appropriate response. Scenarios presented in this interactive activity include age-appropriate examples that may be relatable to many young children.
Throughout the activity, students will engage with 19 different scenarios that encourage them to step into the shoes of others and see the world through compassionate eyes.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, we have a few suggestions for keeping students on track with these concepts:
🆘 Support Struggling Students
For students who need additional support, allow them to have a peer or teacher read each scenario. Additionally, allow the student to respond verbally and then have a peer or teacher help them to drag and drop the responses.
➕ Challenge Fast Finishers
Allow students to work on these in centers or small groups. Engage students in discussions about each scenario and ask them to expand on their responses.
