Use this differentiated worksheet set to provide independent practice using skip counting to solve multiplication expressions.
Skip Counting and Multiplication Differentiated Worksheets
This worksheet set contains three leveled worksheets covering the same skill (multiplying using repeated addition) at varying levels of complexity. Each worksheet is a single page.
Students should be assigned the worksheet that best meets them at their present level or ability using skip counting to solve multiplication expressions. The one-star worksheet is scaffolded to include more built-in support and less complex expressions, using only multiples (or increases) of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10. The two-star worksheet includes more variety and complexity in the problems, including factors 2-10. The three-star worksheet has more complex expressions and multiple-step questions.
An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
In addition to individual student work time, use this worksheet as a:
- Math rotation or guided group
- lesson exit ticket
- fast finisher activity
- homework assignment
- whole-class review (via smartboard)
To provide a challenge, start a student with the level 3 worksheet. Additionally, the resource can also be edited to include even larger numbers and more complex expressions.
To support students, consider starting with the level 1 worksheet and provide assistance when needed with resources such as a multiplication chart. Demonstrate how to use the resources to help them with the worksheet. Then, let the student attempt level 2 with less assistance.

Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend you print one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.
Turn this teaching resource into a sustainable activity by printing on cardstock and slipping it into a dry erase sleeve. Students can record their answers with a whiteboard marker, then erase and reuse them.
Additionally, project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks.
