Talk for a Minute Task Cards – Build Speaking Confidence!

Encourage students to think quickly, speak clearly, and stay on topic with these Talk for a Minute Task Cards. Each card presents an engaging topic, challenging students to talk for a full minute without long pauses or going off track. This fun and interactive activity is perfect for developing oral communication skills in a supportive classroom environment.

How to Use Talk for a Minute Task Cards

  1. Pick a card – Each player draws a task card with a unique topic.
  2. Start the timer – As soon as the timer begins, start talking about the topic.
  3. Stay on topic – Speak clearly and try to avoid long pauses.
  4. Expand your response – If you finish early, add details, examples, or personal experiences.
  5. Pass it on – Rotate turns among players or move to the next station for a new topic.
