Once your students have read the poem, there are multiple ways for you to extend their engagement with the content. Here are some ideas you might like to consider:
- Shadow Puppet Play – Have students create a shadow play based on the poem. Use a simple setup with a flashlight and cut-out characters (the Easter Bunny, the child) to act out the poem’s events.
- Bunny Footprint Craft Activity – Recreate the magic of the Easter Bunny’s visit by having students make bunny footprints. Use card to cut out footprints and let students decorate them with craft accessories.
- Design a Bunny Burrow – Have students design the ultimate Easter Bunny burrow, taking into consideration all the things the Easter Bunny would want and need in their house! Students could then build their burrows using a variety of recycled materials.
