A worksheet to use when learning about the placement of instruments in the symphony orchestra.
Use this teaching resource when learning about orchestral musical instruments and the families they belong to.
Students cut and paste the instruments into the appropriate section of the orchestra. It is recommended that the sheets be printed on large sheets of paper so that the images are easier to cut out.
The answers provided are a guide only. Placement varies depending on the piece of music being performed, the performance space and the conductor’s preference. The main aim is for the students to simply place instruments in the correct family.
