Practice unit fractions with this set of unit fraction clip cards ready to use in the classroom.
Visual Representation of Unit Fractions
Are you currently teaching your students the basics behind unit fractions? This set of clip cards is the perfect addition to your math resources! Engage your students in hands-on learning as they explore the concept of unit fractions through visual representation. In these clip cards, students pick the correct fraction for each visual representation and either place a clip or a counter on the correct one. You can even pop a star on the correct spot (on the back of each of the task card) for a self-correcting activity
Ways to Use Clip Cards in the Classroom
SCOOT!
- Place the cards on desk tops, tables, or walls around the room. Each student will need a recording sheet and be assigned to a numbered card to start at.
- Students will read the question on the card. Then write the answer on the recording sheet..
- Explain to the students they will move to the next card when signaled. Signal students to move by calling out, “Scoot!”
- Students will move in numerical order. Play continues until students return to the their first card.
Clip Cards:
- Have students use a chip, clothes pin, or any kind of marker to cover the unit fraction shown on each card.
- Have students record the fraction on the answer sheet to the corresponding number card.
