Sort out Comma Rules with Sorts!

This sorting activity will teach first, second, and third-grade students about standard comma rules. Each card displays a sentence using commas correctly or incorrectly. Students sort the cards into correct and incorrect groups using the sorting mats.

Simply place the sorting materials in a center or small group, and set your students to work.

Through this activity, students will show the ability to edit and correct errors in comma placement. Comma rules featured in this set include

  • Commas in a Series
  • Commas in dates.

If you are looking for comma activities for first grade or comma lessons for second grade, this set of task cards is just what you need to bring some novelty into your classroom.
