Valentine’s Day Printables – Mini Books and More!

We’ve got a vast variety of Valentine’s Day activities for kindergarten through second-grade students, beginning with a handy printable mini-book!

This Valentine’s Day printable activity is perfect for your kindergarten and first-grade students to help them understand the concepts and traditions surrounding the Valentine’s Day holiday. Use this mini-book for an interactive read-aloud in the weeks surrounding February 14th.

Through this group reading activity, students will identify high-frequency sight words and use context clues and images to determine the meaning of unknown words or phrases. They will complete sentences about Valentine’s Day celebrations and traditions and color images relating to the holiday.

Among the many benefits of using printable books, students will develop their language, expand their vocabulary, and strengthen their ability to use context clues to determine meaning from a text.

Alternative Uses For a Printable Activity Book

We created this resource for circle time and reading lessons. In addition, we suggest these alternative uses to reinforce reading skills and new vocabulary words with your small group and full-class lessons:

  • Print on cardstock and assemble a small set of books for a reading center activity where students read the books to each other as partners.
  • Complete a booklet, print a copy for each student, and send them home as homework activities.
