Looking for Community Helpers Worksheets

Community helpers come in all shapes and sizes, and the concept of community is a large component of primary-grade Social Studies instruction. We’ve been working hard to develop some amazing community helpers worksheets and activities to help your young learners get to know the helpers in and around their communities.

These social studies worksheets engage your young learners in identifying different community helpers and writing about what services they provide to the community. Five different worksheets are included in this resource file, and a wide variety of helpers are included, such as

  • Doctors
  • Carpenters
  • Barbers
  • Veterinarians
  • Police Officers
  • Electricians
  • And more!

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Struggling Students

  • Discuss the images or read information books about the helpers seen on the worksheets before the lesson. Talk about what each picture shows and what the helper does.
  • Provide an anchor chart or reference to other community helpers’ activities completed before completion.

Easily Download & Print

Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the PDF or Google Slides version of this resource.

Because this resource includes an answer sheet, we recommend printing one copy of the entire file. Then, make photocopies of the blank worksheet for students to complete.

Additionally, you could project the worksheet onto a screen and work through it as a class.
