Which Unit of Measurement Should I Use To Measure Length?

If you’re getting ready to start your measurement unit, you’re in luck! The Teach Starter Team has been hard at work creating new resources to help you teach your students about standard and nonstandard measurement, measurement units, using a ruler, and more! This year, we’re excited to make your measurement lesson plans fun, engaging, and fruitful!

When starting with measurement, it’s always important to introduce your units of measurement and help students understand what units should be used to measure different objects. Whether you’re reviewing material or introducing new concepts, we have the perfect resource for you!

Cut and Paste to Identify The Correct Unit of Measurement

This printable resource pack includes four no-prep worksheets for your students to practice identifying appropriate measurement units. On each worksheet, students will identify an object and then cut and paste a label to identify the unit of measurement that should be used to measure it. We have included the following worksheet options:

  • Centimeters or Meters? Cut and Paste Worksheet
  • Millimeters or Kilometers? Cut and Paste Worksheet
  • Inches or Feet? Cut and Paste Worksheet
  • Yards or Miles? Cut and Paste Worksheet

We have also included an answer key for easy grading!
