Provide the students with a dry-erase board and markers. Read out words from the word list, then have the students write the word on their whiteboard using a line to indicate the syllable breaks. Have the students flip their boards to show what they have written. Use this as an opportunity to assess which students require further support with the concept.

Send the lists home so your students can revise decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) the words on the list. Be sure to include only words containing letter-sound correspondences you have already addressed in class.
Final Stable Syllable Words Assessment
Use the word list as a progress monitoring tool to keep track of your student’s phonemic awareness and to identify the consonant + le words that require further review.
