Engage students and parents in a fun game of Would You Rather? to spice up your open house for school.
Increase Parent Involvement With a Game of ‘Would You Rather’ For Kids and Parents
Are you looking for a fun open house or parent night activity that will get your students (and their parents!) moving? This large group activity encourages students and their families to express their preferences and likes in a fun way.
Easy and Fun Ideas for Back-to-School Open House Night
To play, project the slides in front of the group. Before playing, mark each side of your room (left and right) with a colored sheet of paper. Any color will do. From there, follow these directions to have a bit of friendly Would You Rather Fun!
- Adults and students in each family play as a team. Team members will stand back to back (not touching) so they cannot see each other. Students will face the screen.
- The reader will read aloud a question and the two choices, giving the players the choice and the color represented by each option, and then each player moves to the side of the room that represents their choice.
- Players will only look at each other or speak once they are in their final positions.
- Teams that end up with both members on the same side of the room are given a point.
- Play continues in this manner until all questions are answered.
- The team with the most points at the end of the game wins a prize!
