Identify and remember different coping strategies that can be used at home or in the classroom when feeling overwhelmed with an emotion.
Coping Strategies for the Win! Bingo Game
Make the term ‘coping strategies’ or ‘calming strategies’ vocabulary that is used regularly in your classroom. Students who experiment with and identify coping strategies or calming strategies that work for them are going to be much better off when they experience a big emotion!
After discussing different coping/calming strategies that students could use in the classroom or at home, see if there are any similarities or differences between the ones your class brainstormed and those featured on these Coping Strategies Bingo cards.
The different coping strategies featured in this Bingo game include:
- Draw, paint or colour.
- Writing about feelings
- Asking for help.
- Going for a walk.
- Kicking or bouncing a ball.
- Going outside to enjoy nature.
- Slow mindful breathing.
- Using kind self-talk.
- Taking a break or having a rest.
- Plus more.

Hi, I am wondering if you could make one change for teachers in Christian schools. Could you remove "Meditation" as this is an Eastern religion practice and change it to "Pray". Thank you.
