Observe Temperature Changes With a Moving Heat Experiment
Heat is a form of energy. It can move from one place to another, or from one object to another. It moves towards places and objects with lower heat. Heat is a form of energy that transfers from warmer objects to cooler ones. During this investigation, you will watch how heat from a cup of hot tea moves and how the temperature of a liquid changes over time.
This experiment promotes the use of the scientific method, a systematic approach that scientists use to investigate questions and solve problems.
A Hands-On Heat Transfer Science Experiment
In this Heat Transfer Science Experiment, students will observe a cup of hot tea and collect temperature data over time. They will also practise using a thermometer to measure changes and describe how heat moves from the tea into the surrounding air. We have included printable graphic organisers and recording sheets for them to record their observations and discuss patterns they notice.
