Encourage your students to read and learn about circuits with this levelled worksheet pack.
Worksheet on Series and Parallel Circuits – and More!
If you’re in search of science resources that can also cater to key reading learning outcomes, Teach Starter has got you covered. We offer a vast range of subject-specific reading passages along with comprehension questions. We know how challenging it can be for teachers to manage and cover all the content of various learning areas within a limited time. That’s why resources that can encompass multiple curriculum areas at once are extremely valuable!
This circuit worksheet does exactly that! It enables students to build their comprehension skills while simultaneously teaching them about physical science concepts. By engaging with this circuit reading comprehension activity, students will be given a thorough introduction to circuits by exploring the following topics:
- Circuits and their parts
- Series and parallel circuits
- Switches
- Conductors and insulators
- Electromagnets
After reading the two-page circuit reading passage, students are then required to answer 10 comprehension questions based on the content in the text. Questions include multiple-choice, true/false and short answer questions.
The resource download includes:
- 3 levelled reading passages
- 3 question pages
- An answer key for each level
Three differentiated versions of this resource are included in the download. To make it easier for teachers to identify the 3 differentiated versions (but not so obvious to the students!), a star system has been used. The harder the version of the worksheet, the more stars are in the top right corner of the worksheet.
