What is a rainforest?
Plant life: Two-thirds of all flowering plants can be found in rainforests. Rainforest floors are covered in nutrient rich leaf litter, which decomposes intofertile soil for the plants.
Climate: humid, warm and wet, 18ºC annual average.
Annual rainfall: more than 2,000 mm.
