Building Addition Fact Fluency Just Got Easier!

Are you trying to find a way to get your students more excited about learning their addition facts? If you are, you’re like many other teachers looking for really good printable resources to help their students practice, test themselves, and see how well they’re doing with adding! This year, we’re super pumped to help you help your young mathematicians with some incredible printable addition fact fluency resources for elementary students!

Addition Fact Timed Tests Boost Math Fact Fluency

This downloadable resource includes everything you need to establish and implement a motivational math fact fluency program in your classroom. It contains a range of printables that enable you to set up a self-managed fact fluency practice program, providing independent practice opportunities, fact family timed tests, and mastery tracking datasheets. In your download, you will find:

• Fact Family-Based Addition Fact Timed Tests – You will find three versions of a 2-minute timed test for each addition fact group, including + 0, +1, +2, +3, etc. Fact groups extend up to +12 facts.
• Addition Fact Timed Test Answer Keys – A key is included for each assessment above.
• Whole Class Addition Fact Trackers – We’ve included a single-sheet tracker for all facts/all students in your class and a tracker for each addition fact group.
• Addition Fact Flash Cards – We have included a set of printable addition fact flashcards for students to use for independent practice.

To implement this program, we recommend the following:

• Send a letter to parents introducing your plans, requirements, and rewards for student participation and fact mastery.
• Begin by introducing all students to the +0 Fact set and handing out flashcards. Allow students one week to practice their facts in class and at home.
• At the end of the week, assess all students with a two-minute test. Students who pass the test will return their flashcards and move on to the next set, and the process will continue as they pass levels.
• Store prepared sets of flashcards (in zip-top bags) in a labeled drawer system or envelope so that students can easily access them and acquire new sets independently.
