Remember all of those important end-of-year teacher tasks with a handy Classroom Closeout checklist.
Closing Up Your Classroom for the Year? Don’t Forget The Important Stuff!
Closing down your classroom at the end of the school year is just as important as setting it up at the beginning. Ending a year is more than just taking down bulletin boards and reorganizing your book bins. There are literally hundreds of things that have to be done before you can turn off those lights, lock that door, and waltz your way into the break.
The end of the school year can be overwhelming for teachers, so we’ve developed a handy Classroom Closeout checklist to remind you of all of those important steps to shut down your classroom with ease.
Just a few of the tips we’ve curated for you are:
- Empty your fridge! No one wants to open a gross, smelly fridge on the first day of school.
- Clean out your desk and discard expired foods or medications. You’ll want to start with a clean slate next year.
- Take home ANYTHING that you value. If it can be broken, take it home. If it is valuable, take it home. Cleaning crews aren’t always gentle.
