Use “Hickory Dickory Dock” in Your Lessons

This poster can be used in many different ways to complement learning in your early years classroom. Here are a few suggestions from our teacher team that you might like to try:

  • Telling the Time – Use a toy clock or a classroom clock to practice counting as the mouse runs up the clock. Move the clock’s hands and have children count the hours.
  • Finger Puppets – As a craft activity, have the students make mice finger puppets. Use these to act out the nursery rhyme.
  • Character Development – Explore the character traits of the mouse who ran up the clock. Give the mouse a name, then use adjectives to describe its appearance and personality.
