Handwriting Practice and So Much More!

These aren’t your average handwriting sheets! Our Number Handwriting Practice Worksheet set includes two different templates — one for numbers 0-10 and another for numbers 11-20.

When completing these worksheets, students will not only practice writing the numeral and word form of the target number, but also complete a set of math tasks that reinforce number recognition and other early math skills.

In the first set, numbers 0-10, students will:

  • Represent the number in a ten frame
  • Color the target number of fingers
  • Give a dog the target number of spots
  • Add the target number of train cars to a train

In the second set, numbers 11-20, students will:

  • Write the number before and after the target number
  • Represent the number in a double ten frame
  • Complete a sentence about the target number’s relationship to 10
  • Write the target number in a place value chart

Handwriting Activity Ideas

In addition to this set of handwriting worksheets, there are many other activities you can try in your classroom to spice up your handwriting lessons! Give these a try:

  • Sand Writing: Students practice writing letters in trays of sand for a unique sensory experience.
  • Rainbow Writing: Students write letters in all the colors of the rainbow with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
  • Playdough Letters: Students form letters using playdough. For variety, allow them to choose different colors for capital and lowercase letters.
  • Magic Letters: Students pretend their pointer fingers are magic wands as they trace letters in the air.
