Looking for a Subject and Object Pronouns Worksheet?

This comprehensive worksheet on subject and object pronouns has been designed by our experienced teacher team to deepen students’ understanding of how pronouns function in sentences. Students will engage in five different activities that build and reinforce their skills with both subjective and objective pronouns:

  1. Color Identification – Students color the subjective pronouns in red and the objective pronouns in blue, helping them visually distinguish between the two types.
  2. Pronoun Substitution – They rewrite sentences, replacing repeated nouns with appropriate subjective pronouns, promoting efficiency and fluency in writing.
  3. Objective Pronoun Replacement – In this activity, students swap underlined nouns in sentences with the correct objective pronouns.
  4. Pronoun Identification – Students identify whether underlined pronouns are subjective or objective, reinforcing their understanding of the role each plays in a sentence.
  5. Sentence Construction – Finally, they practice writing their own sentence using both a subjective and an objective pronoun, giving them hands-on experience applying what they’ve learned.

This resource is perfect for independent practice after direct teaching.

This subject and object pronouns worksheet downloads as an easy-print PDF or an editable Google Slides file. An answer key is included in the download.

  • Supporting Students – Provide students with a visual reference chart listing all the subjective and objective pronouns. This helps students who may need reminders while completing the worksheet.
  • Extending Students – Challenge advanced students to write a paragraph using as many subjective and objective pronouns as possible. This reinforces their understanding while encouraging creativity.
